ANALYSIS OF LEAKAGE CURRENT ON POLYMERIC INSULATOR UNDER RAINFOREST ENVIRONMENT

This paper develops a Finite Element Model (FEM) for 138 kV High Temperature Vulcanized (HTV) Silicone Rubber (SiR) transmission insulator in which, first step, leakage current is calculated different non-uniform continuous and discontinuous pollution deposits then features based on the phase shift between applied voltage are extracted each kind of layer to identify existence dry bands surface. A 84.75° lag was found with inserted. results evidence that angle can be used detect band formation by measuring its angle.
